A woman Trio Magic : The Mirror

A story that stuck with me from Lust Story 2 will be “The Mirror”. It would be the most liked among all the other 3 stories from the movie lust story 2, for me it was the best of all four. Why? I will tell you why, this movie speaks about the unspoken taboo topic, sex but mostly because it even goes deeper and explores fetishes of people. Fetishes that we keep quietly buttoned up in our heavy bossoms or zipped up in our pants. For different people, sex is enjoyable or pleasurable in different ways. For some its giving, for some its receiving , for some its in watching, for some its in being creative, for some its in peculiar features that their partner possesses,everybody has something or the other, that turns them on and leads them on to their beautiful sexual fulfilments or climaxes. Konkana sen has shown her brilliance directing woman and their desires in this short story called “The Mirror”. The Mirror (the title) has a lot of deeper meanings , a deeper look into oneself, and what one wants, an undying desire to look into others creative pleasure-making, to be a part of something so beautiful indirectly, being a secret admirer etc. We often enjoy stalking people who are from a different social status compared to us, or people who have something that we dont have. We use them as a source of constant entertainment from our boring regular lives. Tillothama shome, another brillaint woman potrays such a powerful character of a designer in her 30’s , Ishita. She expresses, the beauty of looking through a mirror to find the contenment she was not really looking for. Again, the trio wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t discuss, the talent Amruta Subash, who played the character seema, the maid of Ishita, the person who was looked into from the mirror, the one who showed that there were no limitations to pleasure, only if you gave in. She not only desired deeply, but she showed how to desire, how to be desired. The character took the story by the hands and led it to an amazing realisation, that your contenment is yours, your desires is yours. It might be unusual or found as weird but its yours. You know what you are, deep down even when you cannot figure it out sometimes. You know what you want also, without doubt
