Dear Warriors : Your scars are badges of courage

Dear Warriors,

You are not rape-victims or survivors. You bear no scars of shame or guilt. It is or was never your fault at any point of time.

Your scars are badges of courage, even though you didn't ask for it. Recently, I went through the surprising news of a spanish couple being attacked and the wife raped in Jharkand, India.

There were 8 accused in Jharkhand for this heinous crime. We also heard about Manipur women, stripping and parading where 6 men were charged of gang- rape. Another cruel crime that was publicly looked at by so many, and didn't move a finger against the criminals while the woman was getting harassed. Another incident where two girls from Kanpur where found hanging from a tree, which was also a by-product of gang- rape by three men. A 15 year old girl from Kerala's Pathanamthitta district was abducted and raped by three men who hailed from thrissur district. What paved the way for this sexual abuse was an Instagram friendship. An 8 year old girl was raped in UP by two men amongst one being her mother's lover. Here, unfortunately the mother was part of the crime. A woman constable was raped in UP multiple times in the pretext of a marriage offer. There are many other curel rape stories of recent times from Rajasthan, Delhi, Agra, Gurugram, UP, Maharashtra, Noida, Madhya pradesh,Ujjain, Himachel pradesh, Chattisgarh, Haryana, Ghaziabad, odisha,Mumbai, Kerala etc No one deserves to bear the scars of such wild predators lacking empathy and any kind of compassions, their sentences should be as unempathetic and compassionless. But if someone says if it was due to the woman whose looks or dressing then its a real shame. Nobody dresses up to get raped, nobody does it for another person's approval even. As a woman I can guarantee that when a woman wants to look good it's only for her own satisfaction and she shouldn't explain herself to anybody. All those who have been preyed by evil human eyes are the greatest of great warriors living with the scars from the battles they won. Victory is specific to each and everyone, it need not be justice alone as justice is hard to attain even through our judicial system but victory can be very personal like a realisation within oneself that I am not to be blamed, and I will continue living no matter what nonsense people would speak behind my back. There is a goddess within every woman, nobody can infiltrate a temple of highest divinity which is the body of oneself.

With Pride,

A woman
